The Terraced House
The Terraced House designed by Alvar Aalto and built in 1939 is a superb example of modern functionalism and experimental residential architecture.
The block of flats built in a terrace-like manner on a ridge is well worth seeing. Each apartment has a direct entrance from the ridge, and all the apartments have a terrace formed by the roof of the lower-floor apartment. The building is in residential use and therefore it can only be observed from the outside.
